These terms explain the use of the Arloes application and this website. “We”, “us” and “our” refer to the independent Arloes developer identified on the application’s Google Play listing. By using Arloes, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
1. About Arloes
Arloes is an independent Android TV media client. It connects to an Emby server you choose. It does not supply films, programmes, live channels, subscriptions or a hosted media server. Arloes is not affiliated with or endorsed by Emby.
2. Requirements and accounts
You need a compatible device, a network connection and authorised access to a compatible Emby server. Features depend on your device, server version, permissions, configuration and available media. Separate provider subscriptions or fees may apply.
You are responsible for using accounts you are authorised to access and protecting your credentials. Accounts are managed by your server administrator or Emby Connect, not created by Arloes.
3. Permitted use
You may use Arloes for lawful access to media and services you are entitled to use. Do not use it to infringe copyright, access a server without permission, bypass account restrictions, distribute malicious content or interfere with another person’s systems.
These terms do not restrict activities that applicable law or a relevant open-source licence expressly permits.
4. Your media and third-party services
You retain your rights in your own media. Using Arloes does not transfer ownership of it to us. You and your server operator are responsible for the rights and permissions required to store, access and share that media.
Emby, ratings providers, subtitle services, trailer services and external players operate independently. Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services. Availability and compatibility may change. Images shown on this website illustrate the interface; that media is not supplied with Arloes.
5. Application and branding
Rights in the Arloes application and branding remain with their respective owners. Third-party names, artwork and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Open-source components remain subject to their applicable licences, which take precedence for those components.
Permission to use the app does not grant permission to present yourself as its developer or imply an endorsement by Arloes or Emby.
6. Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains local storage, server communications, external services and support information. Read it before connecting an account. Use HTTPS for server connections wherever available, especially over the internet.
7. Updates and availability
We may release updates to fix issues, improve compatibility or change features. An update may be needed to continue working with changes to Android or external services. We do not promise uninterrupted operation or compatibility with every server, device or media format.
Beta versions may contain unfinished features or faults. Keep appropriate backups of your server and media. We will provide notice of material changes where required by law.
8. Consumer rights and responsibility
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
Subject to those rights, availability depends on factors outside our control, including your network, device, server and external providers. We do not guarantee a particular playback result for every configuration. Responsibility for any loss or failure is determined under applicable law; these terms do not impose a blanket waiver of your rights.
9. Young users
Arloes is intended for people aged 13 and over. If you are not legally able to agree to these terms independently, your parent or guardian should review them and authorise your use. Parents, guardians and server administrators are responsible for managing age-appropriate server access and permissions.
10. Stopping use
You may stop using Arloes at any time and remove it from your device. Clearing application storage removes local saved data. This does not delete your server account, Emby Connect account or data held by external providers. Contact the relevant operator to manage those records.
11. Changes and questions
We may revise these terms as the app changes. The date at the top identifies the current version. Where required by law, we will give additional notice or seek agreement to material changes.
